Since 1922
Our Story
Michael was deeply moved by families experiencing pregnancy loss. Since 1922, his family’s funeral home has provided free services, inspiring him to do more. He founded the Baby Spirit Foundation to ensure all families receive compassionate support. Today, it thrives through dedicated volunteers, donors, and supporters.
Our Story
The loss of a baby is one of life’s most heartbreaking experiences. A moment when the world expects joy, only to be met with unimaginable grief. Families are left stunned, broken, and often without the support they need to navigate such deep sorrow.
As a funeral director, Michael spent years witnessing this quiet crisis unfold. At his family's funeral home, they chose to provide cremation services at no cost for families who lost a baby, simply because it felt like the right thing to do. What followed changed him forever.
He saw the impact. The relief. The tears. The sacred stillness when a family realized someone cared. Not just in words, but in action. Again and again, families told him that the service they received meant everything during the worst moment of their lives.
That experience stirred something deep within him: this kind of care shouldn't be rare. It should be available to everyone.
So in 2021, Michael founded the Baby Spirit Foundation a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that every family experiencing pregnancy or infant loss receives compassionate cremation services, emotional support, and heartfelt guidance completely free of charge.
We exist to stand in that gap. To meet families in their grief. To honor tiny lives with love and dignity. And to remind parents who feel shattered that they are not alone.

Our Mission
The Baby Spirit Foundation serves families and individuals who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss up to 12 months of age. We strive to lessen the family's emotional burden over time by providing them with honorable funeral services, education, and an emotional support program.
